Au Lapin Agile

2016 Annecy Trailer co-directed at Gobelins

In 1910 Montmartre, a bar fight between artists gets creative.

In my third year at CalArts, I went abroad for a semester at Gobelins in Paris, France. There I co-directed an Annecy trailer with the theme of France. I had just read a book about the infamous bar that Picasso and Matisse used to frequent together, so I pitched an idea about a bar fight birthing their two opposing art movements. We ran with the idea, added an exhausted bartender, and got moving. It was so fun to direct this short with such a talented team, and in French no less (as much as I could try anyways)! I was responsible for story concepting, some character animation, FXs animation and design, compositing, and even a bit of sound and foley direction.
